Pluggable Authentication Modules (PAM) [T1556.003] is a sub-technique within the MITRE ATT&CK framework categorized under Credential Access. Attackers targeting PAM aim to manipulate authentication mechanisms to gain persistent unauthorized access, escalate privileges, or harvest sensitive credentials from compromised systems.
